Our series for the month of March and leading up to the Easter season is “Learning to Live Humbled.” Living humbled is recognizing our need for God. The opposite of humility is pride, which in the words of C.S. Lewis, “has been the chief cause of misery in every nation and every family since the world began.” A humbled life flies in the face of the fierce independence seen in the lives of so many today, that attitude that says “I don’t need help,” or that boasts in self works, determination, and accomplishments. Most everything in life can be used to teach us humility. You can learn how to turn even the most difficult things back in worship to God. Real strength is found in humility, for it is humility that gives us access to God’s grace. Jesus said, “those who humble themselves will be exalted.” It’s one of life’s best kept secrets!
