About Us

Our Pastor

Our lead pastor is Konrad Ziesing. He and his wife, Sarahlee, have four children. They moved to the Wood River Valley in December 2017. Konrad and Sarahlee both grew up in the Northwest. They have served together in ministry for almost 30 years. Konrad is also an online instructor for several universities, teaching courses in leadership and ethics. The Ziesings feel extremely blessed to be ministering in such a beautiful part of the country and enjoy getting out in God’s amazing creation whenever they can. You will find Konrad and Sarahlee to be a caring and kind, community-minded couple. They are genuine and down to earth people who love the Lord. If you see them, be sure to say “Hello!”

Our Heart

We are a mountain town church with a smaller congregation, but we are serious about making a difference in our valley. Ministry in a mountain community has it’s share of challenges. It’s also been difficult gaining traction doing church during a pandemic, but we’ve remained positive and future focused. We strive to point people to Jesus in everything we do and desire to be creative in our approach. We’re in a season of rediscovering church; what it means and what it looks like. We are praying for people who feel similarly and are interested in helping us with our vision of reaching our mountain community in creative and diverse ways. We’d love to see you on Sunday mornings or Thursday nights, but would also enjoy just grabbing a cup of coffee for the chance to get to know you. Feel free to connect with our pastor here. He who began a good work, will be faithful to complete it.

Our History

60years02
We celebrated 60 years in 2018!

The Rock Church, known for years as Wood River Assembly of God, recently celebrated 60 years as a church in the Wood River Valley. We celebrated with a special service and fellowship luncheon on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Many friends and extended family, as well as several previous pastors, were in attendance. It was a great day of remembrance and thanksgiving for our church.

We opened our doors to the Wood River Valley 60 years ago and they haven’t closed since. God has been so faithful to us! We’ve purchased land, built a church, an addition, and made many improvements to our facility, some even more recently. We have had the blessing of having a variety of pastors lead our congregation over the years. Our church has seen some ups and downs, but we are committed to carrying on the work of those who came before us. People have come and gone, but our hearts, just like our doors, continue to be open to our community. We believe our best years are yet to come!

And let us not become weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9

Note: The Rock Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Our church does not have any association or connection to any church or churches with similar namesake. We are a sovereign church, and as such, enjoy full autonomy, and are self-governing and self-supporting.
