Mental Health Awareness Month

May is mental awareness month.

Mental Health Awareness Month 2026 takes place throughout May, with the theme “More Good Days, Together,” promoting mental wellness and community support.

How do you view your mental health? Perhaps you have never even considered this question? What does it mean to be healthy mentally? Below are a few suggestions to assist your mind and emotions to be in a positive state:

  • Eat a well-balanced diet
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Stay active, exercise on a regular basis
  • Get plenty of rest (between 7-9 hours/night)
  • Keep a sense of humor.
  • Play, have fun and laugh!
  • Resolve relationship conflicts and reduce resentments and hostility
  • Choose forgiveness
  • Engage your mind regularly (read books, play games, take classes)
  • Participate in social activities
