Hidden in the Rock

We need a covering! A place of safety. A place where we are hidden in the cleft of the Rock and covered by His hand, in the shadow of the Almighty. Moses experienced this personally in Exodus 33. Moses asked to see God’s glory. God said, “Alright, but no one can see My face and live.” So God made a way for Moses to experience His glorious presence, and live.

The Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen” (Exodus 33:21-23).

Aren’t you thankful there is a place near God for you? A place of forgiveness, peace, and rest. A place where you are hidden in Christ, the Rock, were you can experience God’s glory and His presence despite your sin because of what Jesus did for you on the cross. To listen to the entire message, click here and also be sure to download this week’s study guide.
