Thank You!

Thank you for your generosity toward us and our church in helping to purchase new appliances for the kitchen at our parsonage. This letter is long overdue. We were finally able to get the oven, microhood, and dishwasher installed amidst COVID and delays in orders. Thank you for your patience. We worked with a local businessman who was doing his best to find us deals on good appliances. This meant some waiting. On top of it he got COVID right before we were set to install everything. In the end, we were able to save hundreds of dollars on the purchases, and even more on the installation as the labor was donated too. It was worth the wait! We are so blessed!

The following are a few pictures of before and after so you can see the fruit of your gift. We hope it brings you as much pleasure as it does us. We finally have a fully functioning oven and dishwasher, as well as a microwave above the the oven freeing up space on the counter in the kitchen.

Dishwasher Before! The dishwasher wasn’t working at all. We enjoyed washing dishes by hand for the past year or so. It reminded us of our parents growing up. The counter and sink were often full of dishes with two boys at home and everyone stuck inside when our town was shut down for COVID for several months this past Spring.
Dishwasher After! We installed a wonderful Bosch dishwasher which works great and is super quiet. What a blessing! And look at the reclaimed counter and sink. Yay!
Dishwasher After! We love the beautiful stainless steel finish! The features on this dishwasher are great; makes doing dishes a breeze. Did we mention how quiet it is?
Oven and Micro Before! This oven has seen better days. While the cooktop worked alright, the oven itself would turn off or drop temps during the cook cycle on a regular basis. This was a constant frustration, especially to our son who is preparing for a career in the culinary arts. Notice our microwave too. It has tape securing the open/close button.
Oven After! It’s beautiful! And it works! We are all are so thrilled! It’s no longer a guessing game worrying about whether or not the stove will shut off, especially when company’s coming or when my son is working on his latest creation for high school cooking class.
Oven After! We love it! Inside and out! Did you notice the microwave too! It’s slim but there’s plenty of room. So convenient too. And we reclaimed even more counter space!
Kitchen Before! Old appliances that didn’t work and lots of useful and necessary counter space taken up by dishes and a microwave. Why did we wait so long? Nearing 30 years in ministry, we’ve learned the secret of being content in all circumstances.
Kitchen After! It looks amazing! What a difference the new appliances make. Not to mention all the extra counterspace we reclaimed. Such a blessing!
Kitchen After! Another picture to try to get it all in. There wasn’t a great way to showcase everything in one shot, but this comes close. We think the appliances work pretty nicely against the retro 80’s orange counter top. Fun fact! I had the same color counters in the kitchen at my parent’s place when I was in high school.

Again, from the bottom of our heart, we want to thank you for your kindness and generosity. The new appliances are a blessing to us in many ways, but the greatest is experiencing the kindness of strangers at a time when we see so much contrary in the world today. Your gift, your thoughtfulness, and your prayers have meant so much to us. We would ask you to keep us in your prayers as we endeavor to reach our community for Christ during these turbulent and uncertain times.

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:

“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
    their righteousness endures forever.”

10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
